Last year I wrote a personal blog post on my experience with Skyla IUD. I couldn’t find any information on it and I had no if what I was experiencing was normal or not. It’s now a post that get’s over 1,000 hits a month and the responses are still “I can’t find any info except your blog post. Thank you.”
What I can now say with absolute fact is that Skyla has some pretty nasty side effects. I’ve never heard of women experiencing them with Mirena IUD. It’s actually quite the opposite. So I guess keep that in mind if you are torn between getting one or the other.
So, what are the side effects to Skyla that I had and the women had who posted responses. I’ve itemized them out below in case you wanted a more stream lines approach.
- Painfull Insertions
- Extreme Mood Swings
- Suicidal Thoughts
- Severe Cramping
- Constant Spotting
- Irregular Periods
Some of the women stopped having their periods or they got a lot lighter than what they had been in the past.
