Oatmeal is one of the best things and athlete can eat before a bike ride or a race of some sort. It is easily digested and doesn’t spike your blood sugars leaving you feeling unbalanced at some point before you can eat again. One of my favorite things to do with oatmeal is mix an egg into the oatmeal before cooking it. This adds some great protein and also a rich custard like taste that is really good. When I’m training really hard, I also put in a half scoop of vanilla whey protein.
Protein Peaches and Cream Oatmeal
- 1/2 cup instant oatmeal
- 3/4 cup of water
- 1 egg
- 1/2 scoop vanilla protein
- 1 tablespoon maple syurp
- 1 peach, diced
- pinch of salt
- Combine all the ingredients and mix well. Microwave on high. for 1 minute and 25 seconds.
- Pull out of the microwave and stir.
