Ok – I’ll be honest here. I’ve never been a fan of Pinterest or gotten the whole “following” of people. I mean, I like it to save things for myself when it comes to home decorating ideas and things like that, but nothing else. However, recently I’ve been trying to do more of it or at least trying to be more active as a way to understand what you guys all like and what’s trending. Basically, what can I do to give you what you want. But I got tell ya what, I’m maybe even less of a fan now and it’s definitely not helping me out.
Why you might ask? Well, there seem to be a handful of food bloggers that mastered Pinterest a few years ago and their recipes are everywhere. Yay for them (seriously, this isn’t an easy business) but boo for me because it’s the same recipes over and over and over if you just search for a recipe idea. There are more than one Thai soup recipe or rice bowl recipe floating around the internet – I promise!
A few months ago I stumbled upon a new food publishing site called Yummly. Have you heard of it? It is strictly a food publishing site and it’s great. I promise!!! Seriously, go search for a few recipes and you’ll actually see new ones. Shocking, right?
All you have to do is sign up and you’ve got a Yummly page with the ability to yum everything you want. And here’s the thing, when they give you ideas of what’s trending – it’s again, new stuff!!! Besides, how much better does “yum it” sound instead of “pin it”?!?
Go check it out and let me know how much you love it!
